Redi Shade recently contacted me to try one of their products. I must say that the timing was perfect because until this point, my mornings have been, shall we say, challenging.
To backtrack a bit, we have had two different types of shades in this room - both of them from a leading shade maker. I'm not naming names because this isn't meant to bash. The first shade was a custom cut cellular blackout shade that raised and lowered by a string. Well, the string broke and in the days leading up to replacing it, I would wrap the string around the shade to hold it in place all day. I know, classy. We tried to return it to our local hardware store, but they would not take it back. Fast forward to the replacement shade - from the same leading brand. This time we purchased a blackout roller shade. Everything was fine for about a week then my mornings went something like this. Wake up. Make the bed. Pull the shade, release. Pull shade, release. Pull shade, release. Insert swear words. Then by the 15th try, the shade would stay open.
When Redi Shade contacted me asking if I would like to try out the blind, they also sent a video clip of the installation. I couldn't believe how easy it looked - nothing is ever easy. We chose a Simple Fit custom cut blackout shade. When Mr. began installing our shade, I asked him not to do anything until I could get the camera because I wanted to video tape the process. In the four minutes it took me to get the camera, Mr. had installed the shade. It required no tools what-so-ever.
Adhesives stick to either end and when the shade is in place, you simply lock it in with tabs at each end. We love our new shade. Watch the video below to see Mr. demonstrating how easy it is to open and close - making for a very pleasant morning.
Redi Shade is offering one of my lucky followers a Simple Fit custom shade valued between $99 and $253, depending on the size and type of shade you pick.
To enter the giveaway, you must be a follower through Google friend connect and you must live in the US. All you need to do is leave a comment about where you would use your new shade. Winner will be announced Monday. Good luck!

I love products that are simple and easy to install. These shades look really nice. Thanks for the chance to win one in a Giveaway! If I won, I would hang it in my decorated laundry room.
ReplyDeleteRene, they offered me this same deal, but I didn't need a shade so I didn't do it. I am glad to see it does install easily like they said.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the Redi Shade. I can't stand the look of mini blinds anymore. I need to replace all of them in my house. I would use the Redi Shade in my kitchen window. I don't get much sun though that window but could use it for privacy. Thanks so much for the chance.

Wow, nice benefit of having a blog, reviewing products! May many more wonderful vendors contact you! :) Janell
ReplyDeleteThat looks easy and invisible! I could probably use one in my den!

I want these for my bedroom. We are getting ready to put new drapes in there but I wasn't sure on what to do for privacy or at night. Currently there are roller shades in there and are hidden by a cornice board. I love how these blend so easily with the moulding of your windows.....which by the way, are so pretty! I couldnt help but notice the view outside your window...just lovely!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway Rene! I would love to use a Redi Shade in my laundry room - I've gone almost five years without a shade in there!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great Labor Day weekend!
Alissa
Thanks for the chance to win! I'd use mine in my guest room--the blinds in there just aren't enough, especially during the day when my youngest guests might want to nap. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI can't see the vidoe :( Says it's private. But I would love a chance to win a shade. I'm going to take a look at their site to see how wide they go.
ReplyDeleteHa! That is because I had it set on private. Thanks Anita. I think it is fixed now.

Wow, thanks for the opportunity to win such a great product! I would love to have one in all of my windows but for now, my bedroom window is in desperate need of some privacy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks you again and have a great one!
Jennifer
Wow! That does look simple. If I won I would use the shade in our den. Love that it disappears when it's up.

Sounds awesome. I have several windows on the one side of my house that could use shades. I'm loving the idea that you just stick them up. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy bedroom! To block out the pesky streetlights that shine throught faux wood blinds hanging there now! Right into my ey they shine...argh.
ReplyDeleteGreat find! We could use one in our master bathroom:) justuschickens@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteDo you know how good your timing is on this review? I have a whole house that needs shades/blinds/curtains.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting and taking the time to review. If you get a second, take a look at my two front [HUGE] circular windows. What would you do? I need privacy on these windows (at night) but hate to detract from this little house's best feature!!

Wow! This looks like exactly what I have been needing for my family room. I have a wide patio door that lets in incredible amounts of heat in the afternoon, and a room darkening/sun blocking shade would be perfect for the afternoons. Thanks for the entry!
ReplyDeleteThe shade looks great. I would use it in my living room on the picture window! Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to review products, especially ones that work!...we are in the need of, um, some privacy! Shades have NOT been put up in every room, so it would be REALLY nice to win this one. --Gretchen O.
ReplyDeleteI would us it in my bedroom - I need a blackout solution for my east facing bedroom!
ReplyDeleteJust move this summer and am still working on the windows. My twins could really use a black out shade (in place of the skinny minis and non-coordinating red velveteen drapes) and my den has an original to the house paper shade! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCan Mr come hang my shade over my kitchen sink when I win? :) I need to put it over my sink because the sun comes in the afternoon and you cook at our bar. Thanks for showing us this awesome shade!
ReplyDeleteRene,
ReplyDeleteI have roller shades that dont retract, no shades, cloth held up with push pins, cloth shower curtains, oh and a sheet in one window. Pitiful I know. We have gone through many changes in our house of 11 years. I am sooo looking for an easy install that will survive a week at the very least with out crumbling apart when you go to open the shade. Just in the downstairs I could use eleven in the house and ten in the sunroom.
Thank you for sharing the product with us and thank you for the giveaway!
Always, Teresa T.
Hmmm....very interesting. Was initially considering bamboo shades for our dining room, but I think these could work. I like the simplicity of them and it'll be easy to pull down when we're having dinner (anyone walking down our street can see right into our DR when we're having dinner). Thanks again for the chance to win - I am a follower!
ReplyDeleteI need these for the kids rooms - and if I won, it would go to the new baby's nursery!
ReplyDeleteWow, the installation looks like something even I could do! I'd love them for my bedroom. Great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThese look great! I'd love one for my kitchen window =)
ReplyDeleteIn my son's room for sure!!! We bought one recently, but the fit isn't great...
ReplyDeleteI am a follower! Could I save it for my new house?
ReplyDeleteI have four windows to consider for a shade. The window that really needs it the most is a front bedroom.
ReplyDeleteWe have lived in our home for 25 years and the curtain that has been up for 25 years was the same curtain from my teenage bedroom! Time for a change I would say! My Mom would be trilled to hear that horrible tacky sheet curtain has been replaced by a new lovely Redi Shade. I just passed the half century mark and I'd be trilled to
not to have to look at that ugly curtain for another 25 years. LOL
Thanks,
Chris
